Inspired Living in Indian Springs | Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Designed to enhance the natural beauty of its setting, this centrally located Jackson Hole estate captures warm southern exposures and dramatic views to the mountains across conservation land, meadows and wetlands.

The design project became a joint venture between locals Roger Strout of Strout Architects, David Meyers custom construction, and resident Peter Mettler.

The vision for this custom timber and stone residence was inspired by its private location with twin ponds, waterfalls, terraces and lush landscaping. The gently rolling terrain has all-day sunshine and its surroundings attract moose, elk, deer, fox, herons, eagles, and osprey throughout the seasons.

Sited on 7.58 acres, the 4917 square foot home has four bedrooms, three full baths, an old world wine cellar, powder room, office, and great room. The great room walls combine dovetailed log construction along with locally sourced timber beams, reclaimed oak flooring, and cathedral ceilings. A full height moss rock fireplace frames one end while southern exposures encompass the vast landscape of ponds and conservation meadows that surround the home.

Elaborate interior finishes include internationally sourced granite and stone on countertops and floor, leather bar facades, an entry console of Wyoming fish fossil rock, hand-wrought fireplace doors and stair rails and custom crafted interior and exterior lighting. The design is thoughtful and no detail has been overlooked in its timeless mountain contemporary architecture.

Indian Springs Ranch is one of the most prestigious gated residential enclaves in Jackson Hole. There are 42 home sites are distributed throughout the 1200 acres that encompass the community. More than 500 acres of dedicated open space show the ranch’s commitment to preserving a large portion of the development for wildlife habitat. Just ten minutes from downtown Jackson, the ski area and other attractions, ownership in the subdivision also brings private access to excellent amenities. Among them are outstanding fly-fishing on Spring Creek and numerous lakes, tennis courts, swimming pool with clubhouse, and an equestrian center with extensive trails for riding and hiking.

The master bedroom is a benchmark of elegance, occupying the west wing on the main level overlooking one of the trout ponds. Vaulted ceilings, a corner moss rock fireplace and dual walk in closets are features. Custom bathroom finishes include Turkish onyx stone on the sinks, floors, walls, and countertops and a circular glass block steam shower with multiple body sprays.

The office/fitness room has southern mountain views over another pond with a rounded wall of windows. Three additional bedrooms are privately located a half level above and offer spacious retreats for guests. Reclaimed oak hardwood floors, Venetian plaster, and cathedral ceilings embody the home’s design. The in-floor natural gas hydronic heat system is energy efficient and comfortable.

The kitchen’s handcrafted cherry wood cabinetry, crown molding, and other built-ins define the craftsmanship throughout. State of the art appliances in the kitchen and wet bar make entertaining easy and a walk in pantry keeps extra supplies neatly organized.

Extensive exterior landscaping of native trees, shrubbery and perennials includes more than 1100 square feet of stone patios. A barbecue grill and gas fire pit on the back terrace border the water features and create yearround gathering points. Two fishing piers on the deep trout ponds are fun casting spots for children of all ages.

The three bay garage has his and hers storage cabinets along one wall. Future drawings for a 1000 square foot two bedroom/ two-bath guesthouse are available and will represent a true asset to the functionality of the property.

Jackson Hole is a unique mountain resort town. Nearly 98% of its lands are permanently protected from development to allow the views and wildlife corridors to remain unchanged for prosperity. Wyoming is ranked number one in the U.S. for its tax climate and is business friendly.
