With tens of thousands of visitors, over 800 brands and exhibitors, and 450 boats and yachts on display last year, the 2020 Dubai International Boat Show is set to be bigger and better than ever. The event, which was slated to take place March 10-14, will be hosted at the Dubai Harbour from November 24-28 in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic. Here are some further details on the event.
What to Expect
Visitors to the event can expect to see the new Foiler, a luxury powerboat that is sure to turn heads. The 2020 Foiler has a pair of V8 engines and turbo diesels, and with its hydrofoil system, lifts out of the water nearly five feet above the surface after hitting 18 knots giving passengers the feel of floating on air as they zip through the water above the waves. The Gulf Craft Majesty 140, the Custom Line 120 O, Riva’s latest flagship, the 110 Dolcevita, and the brand new Pershing 82 will also be on display for visitors to experience. On Superyacht Avenue, gain exclusive access to the world’s elite superyacht builders’ newest projects:
From sailing and fishing boats to yachts and cruise ships, the Dubai Harbour is the region’s largest luxury marina and most advanced cruise terminal. The new harbor location will open October 2020 and become home to a mega-marina with the capacity to berth yachts up to just over 500 feet. Dubai Harbour also features shops, residences, restaurants, and hotels.
Visitors will find exciting tournaments such as the Fly Board and Freestyle Championship for waterjet mid-air acrobatics at the event. The ‘Rad Zone,’ a lagoon filled with the latest high-speed water toys, will be a hotbed of activity, as well. Electric surfboards, underwater drones, personal submarines, and electric scooters highlight the many various displays for guests to enjoy. The Dubai Fishing Championship and Marine Art Gallery are also expected to win over visitors.
Outside the Show
Dubai’s electric nightlife will be amplified with the impressive number of visitors brought forth by the event. Live entertainment at the Nikki Beach lounge is sure to bring in crowds while the hospitality lounge and private beach at the venue will stay open much later than your normal boat shows. Seeing urban artwork and dancing to world-renowned DJs highlight the extensive list of things to do while partaking in the marine-life events each day and night.
The 28th edition of the Dubai International Boat Show is a can’t-miss outdoor exhibition to be enjoyed by both yacht aficionados and travelers simply looking for a good time. The annual show returns at its new location from November 24-28, 2020.
